In which I sing "Haze" from Dave Malloy's Three Houses (and play parts of the score on the organ)
I've mentioned before that I am the organist at the local Unitarian Church, and since last week was the fifth anniversary of the first pandemic lockdown, I prepared a suite of music from Dave Malloy's three houses.
(Yes, it is styled lowercase.)
I wanted to share it with you because work-showing is important, and also because I love this music.
Before the service began I explained the story to the congregation, in a somewhat simplified form; one character picks intoxication, one picks optimization, one picks isolation, and none of them can keep the wolf from getting in.
Then I played my own organ arrangements of "Weed and Wine" for the prelude, "Planks" for the offertory, and "Stones" for the postlude, and I sang "Haze" at the piano for special music.
